With temperatures finally starting to warm up, get ready to celebrate with a Minnesotan tradition: picnics!

The Minnesota Historical Society has a large collection of digitized images documenting Minnesotans' love for the warm summer months, including a large collection of picnic images.  We also have a huge collection of cookbooks to help inspire your next outing.

Picnics were often family affairs, but organized picnics by social, religious, or political parties were common.
