The visitor center, most pathways and the first floor of the keeper's home are handicapped accessible. The lighthouse and fog signal building are not handicapped accessible. Wheelchairs are available for visitor use.
A touch-screen video tour is available in the visitor center lobby.
Free parking is available onsite. However in winter and during hours when the visitor center is not open a State Park vehicle permit is required.
The visitor center museum store features items related to maritime and nautical themes, north woods, wildlife, environmental topics and Split Rock Lighthouse merchandise. Items include sweatshirts, t-shirts, mugs, Duluth packs, posters, toys, jewelry and many locally crafted items.
Picnic tables are available near the parking lot area and the neighboring Split Rock Lighthouse State Park has picnic tables, shelters and indoor eating areas. Food and beverages (other than bottled water) are not allowed on the historic site.
Strollers & Diaper Changing Stations
The site does not have strollers available. The visitor center restrooms are equipped with diaper changing facilities.
Service animals, such as guide dogs are permitted. Pets are not allowed.
The site is equipped with both first aid kits and AEDs. Please see a staff person for assistance. All managers are trained in first aid/CPR/AED use.
