After three years of repair and restoration, the State Capitol is open for guided tours beginning January 2017 and we look forward to serving you in the beautifully restored building. Until then, please check out a different MNHS site or museum! For construction updates, visit the Minnesota State Capitol Restoration Project website.
Explore the capitol's history, art and architecture. Students visit the chambers where government decisions are made and can be among the first to see the Minnesota State Capitol, returned to its original 1905 appearance after a three-year repair and restoration project. Weather permitting, visit the Quadriga (golden horses) on the roof of the capitol. Reservations are required for groups of 15 or more, and must be made two weeks in advance.
