Jeffers Petroglyphs is home to roughly 5,000 sacred rock carvings made by the ancestors of today’s American Indians. Programs incorporate history, anthropology, archaeology, and biology, connecting students with those who traveled our continent in ancient times.
All field trips include a video orientation, atlatl program, prairie walk, and tour of the carvings. Teachers choose one of the following lessons. Optional activities are also available.
All programs support state of Minnesota academic standards in social studies.
