Historic Forestville is handicapped accessible. One wheelchair is available at the visitor center. Please call 507-765-2785 for availability.
The Historic Forestville parking lot is located three quarters of a mile past the park office, just south of the river and historic site. A state park vehicle permit is required.
A small gift shop is located in the visitor center which is housed in a reconstructed barn. The shop contains items representing the 19th-century including custom ordered salt glazed Forestville pottery, books telling the tale of life of an earlier time, games and toys, kitchen gadgets and supplies, and bonnets and hats of all sizes. The store is open during regular site hours.
Visitors are welcome to enjoy picnics on the lawn or use the nearby state park picnic pavillion. No food service is available on site, however the visitor center does sell ice cream. Modern restrooms are available inside the visitor center.
The site does not have strollers available.
Pets are allowed on the grounds, but must remain on a leash. Pets are not allowed inside the historic buildings. Service animals are allowed in all locations.
The site is equipped with both first aid kits and AEDs. Please see a staff person for assistance. All managers are trained in first aid/CPR/AED use.
