A Victorian Christmas at the Ramsey House

A Victorian Christmas at the Ramsey House

Experience the sights, sounds and tastes of a Victorian Christmas with special holiday tours. See original family ornaments and family gifts, hear holiday music played on the 1875 Steinway piano, and taste fresh cookies baked in the wood stove. Discover how the Ramsey family and servants celebrated the exciting holiday season. Tours are offered the day after Thanksgiving through Jan. 4.

 

History Happy Hour

History Happy Hour

While sipping, snacking and socializing, learn about popular art and culture of the Victorian era. Programs are held the last Thursday of each month, except November and December. Snacks and two drink tickets are included. This program is for ages 21+ only.

 

Ramsey After Dark

Ramsey After Dark

Secrets of Victorian life emerge from the shadows in this adult evening program series. Monthly programs explore hidden aspects of Victorian history through letters, journals, music, theatrical presentations and parlor games. From medical practices and political controversies, to superstitious beliefs and romantic encounters, discover why Victorian society was not what it appeared to be. Programs are offered the second Friday of the month.

 

Time Capsule for Families

Time Capsule for Families

Children and their parents can explore a year in the life of the Ramsey family in this creative, hands-on family program. Using a timeline map and Time Capsule Tokens, families can discover the food, fashion, music, and special events in history. Before and after the program, children can create and take home their own time capsule. Programs are offered the first Saturday of the month.

History Chef!

Cook your way through history in this unique, hands-on cooking series for adults and children. Taste what Victorian life was like as you use Ramsey family recipes to create cakes, pies, soups and other authentic Victorian dishes. Participants can sample the foods they make and take home delicious items to share. Classes offered throughout the year. Prices vary by theme.
